Prepper Tips: Holiday Travel Survival
Holiday traveling is often difficult, and Thanksgiving week is typically the most hectic time to be on the roads or at the airport.
Traveling this Thanksgiving is turning out to be particularly challenging given the severe weather conditions being experienced across many areas of the country right now.
If you still have more traveling ahead of you I have compiled a quick little checklist of the top things that people forget to do in the holiday travel shuffle:
- Check the weather. You want to check not only your departure and destination points, but everywhere in between. This will help you plan for delays or changing flights at the airport. It should go without saying, but if you are driving then do not travel into severe weather.
- Stock up on snacks before you leave. Traveling on Thanksgiving can take a lot longer than you planned for. Be sure to have plenty of snacks and water. If you are traveling through the airport then bring along a reusable water bottle that you can dump and refill.
- Charge your mobile and electronic gadgets and keep them charged. Charge them before you leave and bring travel chargers to keep them charged on the go. Most airports, cafes, etc have outlets where you can get an emergency recharge for your devices.
