"In central Tokyo, city living is so crowded that people are forced to live in rooms that are not much more than a big cabinet with a shelf. " |
So, you think you're pressed for space inside a little apartment?
Think outside the box.
Using ordinary low profile fruit boxes, you can conveniently fill them with canned goods and slide them under the bed.
This takes wasted space and puts it to use, and also gives the side benefit of keeping the canned goods in a cool, dark place, which will preserve them in optimum conditions.
If your bed is too low to the ground, consider raising it up a little.
Even a queen size bed will provide over 18 square feet of storage space beneath it, which is usually wasted.
